Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs (a) what is the yearly attrition rate of (i) paramedic officers and (ii) paramedic specialists in the SCDF between 2016 and 2022; and (b) whether there are plans to increase their salaries to follow the salary increases in the public healthcare sector.

1. The yearly attrition rate of paramedic officers and paramedic specialists in the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) from 2016 to 2022 is in Table 1.

2. SCDF paramedics belong to the Home Affairs Uniformed Services (HUS). The compensation package of the HUS is regularly reviewed to ensure that it remains market competitive. The latest review was in January 2023, where the officers received a salary adjustment of between 3% and 8%. Since 2019, HUS officers have been receiving strategic payments at specific milestones in their career in the Home Team as part of the remuneration package.
