Second Minister for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, will be leading a delegation to Sydney, Australia, to attend a Regional Summit on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) from 11 to 12 June 2015. The Summit aims to build upon the work commenced at the US White House CVE Summit held in February 2015 in Washington DC, USA, to improve regional coordination and build capacity to challenge violent extremism in order to prevent terrorism.
2. At the Ministerial Meeting of the Regional Summit on CVE, Second Minister Masagos will share with participants Singapore's efforts in countering extremist ideologies and propaganda. Second Minister Masagos will also meet Australian Prime Minister the Honourable Tony Abbott MP and the Attorney-General, Senator the Honourable George Brandis QC.
3. Second Minister Masagos' visit reaffirms Singapore's commitment towards bilateral relations with Australia, the anti-ISIS coalition and international efforts against the threat posed byviolent extremism.
4. Second Minister Masagos will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
