1. Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs and Grassroots Adviser for Sembawang GRC Mr Amrin Amin officiated at the revamped Emergency Preparedness (EP) Day held at the Woodlands constituency this morning. The revamped EP Day is a signature programme under the "SGSecure in the Neighbourhood" initiative.
2. Mr Amrin joined residents to witness a 'live' exercise simulating an attack by gunmen in a neighbourhood setting. The exercise featured response operations by the Singapore Police Force's (SPF) Emergency Response Team, Singapore Civil Defence Force's (SCDF) responders as well as the Woodlands resident volunteers from the People's Association Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) who performed CPR and first aid on the 'injured' and used the SGSecure app to send text-based information and photographs to the SPF.
3. Mr Amrin also launched the SCDF's "I Am Safe" Programme, which equips residents with skills and knowledge on how to respond when a fire breaks out, and how to administer improvised first aid skills during emergencies. The programme, which is available on the SCDF's website, serves to strengthen emergency preparedness amongst residents and equip the community with life-saving skills and knowledge.

About SGSecure
SGSecure is a national movement to sensitise, train and mobilise Singaporeans to play a part to prevent and deal with a terrorist attack. It is the community's response to safeguard our way of life against terrorism and community strife. Government's response alone is not enough.
Every member of the community must do his part by staying alert to ever-present security threats, staying united as one people during peacetime and in crisis, and staying strong to be resilient and bounce back quickly in a crisis. For more information, visit www.sgsecure.sg.
