1. The Singapore Police Force Scholarship and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Scholarships Award Ceremony 2022 (previously known as The Singapore Police Force Scholarship and Home Team Scholarship Ceremony) was held at the Istana on Thursday, 18 August 2022. Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs & Minister for Law, was the Guest-of-Honour and delivered an address to the recipients and their families.
2. The MHA Scholarships comprise The Singapore Police Force Scholarship, as well as uniformed and civilian scholarships. They are for outstanding individuals who share our values of Honour and Unity, and are passionate about our mission to keep Singapore safe and secure, in the role of a uniformed or civilian officer. MHA Scholars will pursue studies in a range of disciplines at prestigious universities locally and overseas, and will be supported in their personal and professional growth.
3. The Singapore Police Force Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships awarded by the Public Service Commission. This year, The Singapore Police Force Scholarship has been awarded to Ee Pei Ying, Raeka, and Ng Hong Xun Nigel. Upon completion of their studies, they will undergo a structured residential training curriculum at the Police Training Command that includes police defence tactics, criminal investigation lessons, physical training, as well as leadership development. Subsequently, they will be posted to the Police divisions to assume investigation and command appointments, to be groomed as future leaders of the Force.
4. In total, MHA has awarded 26 scholarships this year. More information on the various categories of the MHA Scholarships and the list of scholarship recipients for 2022 can be found in the enclosed Annex.
