Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU) Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics support our regular officers in providing emergency medical services.
A CDAU volunteer will don the SCDF uniform and possess the same status and powers as SCDF regulars, and be deployed to the frontline in the fire stations. If you have relevant experience, such as working in an A&E department or private ambulance, come volunteer with us to use your skills to give back to society.

You'll need to meet these criteria:
Only shortlisted applicants will be notified to come for an interview.
If you are found suitable, you will need to go through security and medical screening before you are officially appointed as a CDAU Officer.
After training, you'll be posted to a fire station for duty and perform frontline duties alongside regular officers in providing emergency ambulance services.
You will need to serve a minimum of 2 hours per duty, and clock a total of at least 16 hours of duty per month.
You will need to attend a refresher training course before your official deployment at the fire stations.

Training is conducted at the Civil Defence Academy (CDA) located at Jalan Bahar. Training sessions are held over 16 weeks, 2 to 3 times a week. |
You'll be deployed to fire stations for duty after training.
We will try to place you in a convenient location to minimise your travelling time. However, this is subjected to the availability of posts.
Our philosophy of involvement includes giving you the necessary orientation, opportunities for personal development, as well as awards and recognition for good service.
We will also organize bonding and enrichment to encourage interaction with regular officers and with other volunteers outside of your duty hours.
As a CDAU officer, you will also have group insurance coverage while on CDAU duty.
