Under the Societies Act, a society may only use any flag, symbol, emblem, badge or other insignia with the prior approval in writing from the Registry of Societies.
A society has the option to replace an existing symbol or add new ones.
A Use of Symbol application is to be submitted online at ROS eServices. The President and Secretary are required to verify and submit the application online. The new proposed symbol should be attached in jpg or png format. The file size of the attachment should not exceed 5MB.
Please ensure that the society’s outstanding Annual Returns, if any, are submitted and filed before making any application for Use of Symbol.
A fee of $40 is payable upon submission of the application. Upon receipt of the Use of Symbol application, the Registry of Societies will consider the application and where necessary, seek further clarification from the applicant.
